Why Therapists Choose AMP

Why OTs & COTAs choose AMP

AMP was built differently. We designed a workplace that supports the therapist you are — and the life you want to build.

  1. 01

    Flexible Scheduling

Build a week that works for your life — not the other way around. Purposeful caseloads, reasonable hours, and a schedule you help shape.

  2. 02

    Local Caseloads

Work close to home in Central Florida communities. Less time driving, more time doing the work that matters.

  3. 03

    Real Mentorship

Whether you're a new graduate or an experienced clinician, you'll have access to clinical guidance and a team that invests in your growth.

  4. 04

    Documentation Support

Systems, training, and guidance that make documentation manageable — so you can focus on your clients, not paperwork.

  5. 05

    Career Growth

Clear pathways for both OTs and COTAs — from staff clinician to senior, mentor, and leadership roles.

  6. 06

    Work-Life Balance

A workplace designed around the therapist you are and the life you want. AMP was built to support both.

Life at AMP

What your week looks like

At AMP, therapy happens in homes, schools, daycares, and community settings throughout Central Florida. No two days are exactly alike — and that's part of what makes the work energizing.

  1. Ariana stepping out of the AMP Mini with a tote bag of therapy toys

    You travel to the child.

Sessions happen where the child lives, learns, and plays — not in a clinic office. You're in the child's real environment, working on skills that matter in daily life.

  2. A colleague walking Ariana through a caseload plan built around her area

    Your caseload is local.

We build caseloads around your Central Florida community, so your drive time stays reasonable and your days stay focused.

  3. Ariana helping a girl organize her school backpack while her mom watches

    You build real relationships.

You're not rotating through strangers. You work with children and families over time — watching progress unfold, celebrating milestones, and becoming someone the family trusts.

  4. Ariana finishing her notes on a tablet at a sunny café

    Your documentation is supported.

Systems and guidance are in place to help you complete notes accurately and efficiently — without spending your evenings buried in paperwork.

  5. Ariana walking and laughing with two AMP teammates through a Florida neighborhood

    You're part of a team.

Regional teams, clinical leadership, and operations support are all a message or call away. Working in the field doesn't mean working alone.

  6. A senior AMP occupational therapist showing Ariana a pegboard and putty activity while she takes notes

    Your growth is encouraged.

Mentorship, training, shadowing opportunities, and continuing education support are part of the structure — not perks you have to ask for.

  7. A boy running to greet Ariana as she arrives at his home

    Families know your name.

In community-based care, you become a familiar, trusted presence. That connection is often the most rewarding part of the work.

  8. Ariana walking home at sunset after her last visit

    Flexibility is real.

Schedules are built with your life in mind. AMP was designed to respect the whole person, not just fill a schedule.

  9. Ariana and three AMP therapist friends laughing together in a swan pedal boat on Lake Eola

    Your weekends, your call.

Spend them having fun with friends (many AMP therapists become real friends outside of work), or pick up weekend sessions if you want the extra work. It's up to you.

Balance. Autonomy. Purpose.

The combination that makes therapists stay: real control over your schedule, a manageable local caseload, and work that visibly changes families' lives.

Support You Actually Feel

You should never feel like you're doing this alone.

AMP built systems so you can focus on therapy: clinical leadership for guidance, scheduling support to protect your time, and operational systems that help documentation and coordination happen smoothly.

  1. 01

    Clinical Support

Accessible leadership and experienced clinicians who answer questions, review tough cases, and help you grow your clinical judgment.

  2. 02

    Leadership Access

Leaders who know your name, understand your caseload, and are reachable when you need them — not hidden behind layers.

  3. 03

    Scheduling Support

A team that builds your schedule with intention — clustered visits, reasonable travel, and protected time for notes and family communication.

  4. 04

    Documentation Guidance

Clear expectations, practical templates, and feedback that makes documentation faster and more accurate over time.

  5. 05

    Technology Support

Tools that work, training to use them well, and help when something breaks. Technology should reduce friction, not create it.

  6. 06

    Onboarding Support

A structured start: shadowing, gradual caseload building, and a mentor who checks in while you find your rhythm.

  7. 07

    Team Collaboration

Discipline teammates and cross-discipline colleagues who share ideas, cover each other, and celebrate wins together.

  8. 08

    Operations Support

Authorizations, insurance questions, and family coordination are handled by dedicated staff — so you can stay focused on therapy.

Meet the Founders

Alexander & Alexandra Perez, Founders

Built by people who believe children deserve better.

AMP Pediatric Therapy was founded by Alexander and Alexandra Perez — two people who saw a gap between the care children needed and the systems that were supposed to provide it. Families were waiting. Children were missing critical developmental windows. And the therapists who wanted to help were often working inside structures that made it harder, not easier, to do their best work.

Read the rest of our story

They built AMP to change that. Not with a corporate playbook, but with a genuine commitment to the families they serve and the therapists who make that service possible. From the beginning, the goal was simple: create an organization where therapists are so well-supported that nothing stands between them and the children who need them.

That meant building real systems. Hiring people dedicated to removing administrative barriers. Creating a culture where therapists feel valued, heard, and equipped to grow. And staying close enough to the work that leadership never loses sight of what actually matters.

Years later, that commitment hasn't changed. AMP has grown — in team size, in geographic reach, in the number of families served — but the belief at the center of everything remains the same. When therapists are supported, children thrive.

National Leadership

Founder Alexander Perez has participated in national conversations on entrepreneurship, healthcare access, community development, and small business growth — including White House and Vice Presidential initiatives focused on improving systems for families and communities.

Florida Companies to Watch

AMP Pediatric Therapy was recognized as a Florida Companies to Watch winner — an honor that reflects the organization's growth, community impact, and commitment to building something that lasts.

Built Around Therapists

Every system, every process, and every decision at AMP connects back to one belief: when therapists are supported, children thrive. That belief isn't a tagline — it's the reason AMP was built.

The Work You Do Matters

Real impact. Real families.

When you help a child learn to dress independently, hold a crayon for the first time, or regulate their emotions in a classroom setting — that's not just therapy. That's a family breathing easier. That's a child stepping into the world with more confidence than they had yesterday.

A child feeds herself for the first time.

A parent cries because their child wrote their name.

A teacher reports a breakthrough in the classroom.

A family says you've changed their daily life.

A child walks into school ready — because of the work you did.

Honest Expectations

What to know before you apply

No surprises. Here's what community-based pediatric therapy at AMP is really like:

Community-Based, Not a Clinic

Therapy happens in children's homes, schools, daycares, and community settings across Central Florida — not in an office or clinic. AMP's office is administrative only.

You'll Drive Between Visits

Caseloads are built locally whenever possible, but community-based care means travel is part of the role. A reliable vehicle and valid Florida driver's license are required.

Documentation Matters

Timely, accurate notes are essential — for families, for authorizations, and for continuity of care. We train and support you, but documentation is a real part of the job.

You'll Build Your Schedule

Flexibility is real — and it comes with self-management. Therapists who plan their weeks well thrive here.

Families Are Part of the Work

You'll coach caregivers, answer questions, and build trust in people's homes. Communication and professionalism matter as much as clinical skill.

Independence With Backup

You'll work independently in the field, with clinical and operational support a call or message away. Self-directed clinicians do best in this model.

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and discussed openly during your first conversation with our team. We don't believe in making you guess.
