What Is A Home Care Occupational Therapist?
Pediatric Occupational Therapists are highly-educated professionals who have a minimum of a master’s degree in their field. As in any healthcare-related profession, OTs must study anatomy and physiology, but they also research neuroanatomy. Pediatric Occupational Therapists work with kiddos of all ages to overcome physical obstacles or ailments. The goal is to help kiddos do their job. The job of kiddos is to play, learn, get dressed, move around the house, and other everyday activities. They are qualified to evaluate, diagnose and treat a broad range of delays and disorders. If you are reading this article, you likely are one of them. Occupational Therapists that are part of the AMP PEDIATRIC THERAPY team use all their knowledge to provide therapy in the natural environment of our kiddos. Homes, daycares, and private schools are where they carry out their craft in the spaces where our kiddos feel most comfortable.

What are independent contractors 1099 and employees W2?
The positions that we offer to our therapists here at AMP PEDIATRIC THERAPY is as an independent contractor, so it is essential to know the difference between a 1099 and a W2.
An independent contractor is self-employed.
When you enter into a contract with a company as an independent contractor for a specific role like being a Pediatric Physical Therapists, you have more control. It gives you the ability to set your hours and use your tools like electronic devices and toys, or other items to provide the treatment to the kiddos. Since you are self-employed, the company you entered into a contract with will not withhold any taxes from your paycheck. You pay your own taxes. It gives you the ability to have significantly larger deductions when filing your taxes for the necessary items to accomplish your job. It also provides the company with the ability to provide you with higher wages than an employee.
An employee is hired by a business under an employment agreement.
The hiring company will withhold taxes from your wages. They will have to train you in their specific way of providing therapy, and they may provide benefits. Because of this, the hiring company will have more control over you as an employee- They dictate what you work on and when you work.
Both of these types of contracts have their pros and cons. You have to decide what works best for you as an individual when choosing between these options. As of today, our practice only offers 1099 contracts to our therapists since it gives us the ability to provide the most to our team members under this model.
So there you have it, everything you need to know about becoming a long-lasting Pediatric Occupational Therapists team member of the AMP PEDIATRIC THERAPY family.
