The work
- Work with a diverse caseload: articulation, language delays, fluency, social communication and AAC. You will not be siloed into one area.
- See children in their homes, schools, daycares and community settings. Our office is administrative only.
- Coach caregivers on strategies they can use every day; families are part of every plan.
How the 1099 setup works
- You join AMP as an independent contractor (1099), not as a W-2 employee.
- You are paid for each visit you complete. We discuss compensation openly in your first conversation.
- No taxes are withheld from your pay. You handle your own taxes, and you receive a 1099 form at the end of the year.
- You set your availability and the size of your caseload.

Your schedule and your caseload
You decide how much you work. Tell us your availability and how many children you want to see, and we build your caseload around it, with families grouped close together so you spend less time driving. A full week, part-time, or a few afternoons alongside another job: that is your call. About 300 children are waiting across our service areas, so the caseload you ask for fills right away.
Mentorship and clinical support
New graduates and experienced SLPs alike get clinical mentorship, so you never navigate a complex case alone. Scheduling, authorizations and documentation templates are handled with you. Documentation is electronic, with templates and training, and our team helps with scheduling and authorizations.

Questions therapists ask us
Is bilingual speech therapy in demand?
Yes. AMP serves families in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and Portuguese, so bilingual SLPs are especially welcome.
Do I need my CCC-SLP?
CCC-SLP is preferred but not required for all positions. We welcome clinical fellows and new graduates.
Is this a 1099 or a W-2 position?
It is a 1099 independent contractor position. You are paid per visit, no taxes are withheld, and you manage your own taxes. Our 1099 guide compares it honestly with W-2 work.
Can I choose how many children I see?
Yes. You tell us your availability and the caseload size you want, from a full week to a few afternoons, and we match families to it.
How quickly will my caseload fill?
About 300 children are waiting for a therapist across our service areas, so the caseload you ask for fills right away. You will not spend months building it.
What does it pay?
We do not post pay on the website. Compensation is discussed openly in your first conversation with our team, before you commit to anything.
